Abou-Treika missing against Sfaxien
Ahli’s medical staff are doing their utmost to prepare Mohamed Abou-Treika for the African Super Cup clash against Tunisian champions Sfaxien on February 6th.

The influential playmaker, who recently returned from medical check-ups on a muscle injury in Germany and Portugal, was supposed to be fit for both Gaish and Sfaxien games.

Despite the slow recovery which prevented him from featuring against Gaish, Ahli medical chief Ihab Ali said that the player may well be fit to play in the Super Cup.

“Abou-Treika is getting better everyday and we’re doing our best so that he can play against Sfaxien,” Ali was quoted as saying by Ahli’s official website.

The 30-year-old scored the most important goal of his career against Sfaxien, when he notched an injury-time volley to earn Ahli their fifth CAF Champions League title in 2006.

In the meantime, Ahli’s technical staff decided to rest Mohamed Barakat from Monday’s training session as the midfielder is suffering from flu.
