Cairo police have decided to ban Ahli’s ultras fans from entering the club’s African Super Cup game against Sfaxien with any flags or banners.

The decision which comes as a security measure, will deny Ahli’s club fans ‘Ultras Ahlawy’ from displaying a gigantic banner worth EGP 10,000, which was custom-made for the clash.

“Security prevent our fans from carrying banners without stating any clear reasons, despite the fact that ENPPI and Harras Hodoud fans had flags during the Egyptian Cup final,” an Ahli official told FilGoal.com.

“We did our best to get the police’s approval for the banner, but they rejected our attempts,” an Ultras Ahlawy source told FilGoal.com.

“We also vowed not to use any flames or fireworks during the game but they wouldn’t take any of it.”

Tensions have lately grown between the Cairo police and Ultras Ahlawy, which resulted in imposing very strict security measures during the recent Cairo derby.
