Lierse's Egyptian duo Mohamed Abdul-Wahed and Ahmed Samir believe that they deserve to be called up to Egypt's squad.

Winger Abdul-Wahed and right-back Samir produced fine displays this season to help Lierse move top of the Belgian second division.

"I don’t know when I will play for Egypt," Abdul-Wahed told FilGoal.com on Friday.

"I play regularly, create many chances and score goals but I still find myself out of Egypt's contention."

The former Zamalek man scored nine goals in all competitions so far.

"Sometimes I feel that I'm not an Egyptian because the national team's technical staff and local media ignore me."

Samir called on Egypt coach Hassan Shehata to give him a chance to prove his worth.

"I used to earn an Egypt call-up when I was playing for Harras Hodoud, although I wasn't as good as I'm now."

"It seems that playing in the Belgian second division diminished our chances of breaking into Egypt's squad because nobody watches us playing there.

"I hope that Shehata would give me a chance in any friendly game like he usually does with new players," Samir added.
