Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann said that he was pleased with his players’ spirit during their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

At the Allianz Arena, Nelson Valdez put Dortmund ahead as early as the second minute, before Ze Roberto started Bayern’s comeback with a 24th minute equalizer.

"We were determined to get the result we wanted today, but we were initially forced to fight back after conceding a goal so early."

The Bavarians had to wait till the 88th minute to seal the win, after striker Miroslav Klose hit the net twice within the game’s last three minutes.

"We had the chances to turn it around much earlier, but we ultimately had to wait until the very end. However, we finally earned our reward.

"The team was totally committed. We more than deserved the victory. We’re very, very pleased now. We’ve set our sights high for the next few weeks."

Klose Relieved

From his side, Klose said that it was very important to beat Dortmund, especially after Bayern’s loss to Hamburg last week.

"We were under pressure after a poor performance in Hamburg. It was only going to be a good weekend for us if we won and took all three points," said the Germany forward.

"I’ve scored twice, but winning was the thing that mattered. I think we can now say it’s been a good weekend for us."

Bayern are now second in the Bundesliga table with 38 points, one behind leaders Hoffenheim.
