The Togolese striker was stretchered off late in the first half of the Premier League match after sustaining the injury.

"Adebayor is out for three weeks with a hamstring," Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said after the game.

The French manager has high-profile strikers in abundance, but new signing Andrei Arshavin and the fit-again Eduardo seem to be his best options to fill the frontline void.

"We have Carlos Vela, we have Nicklas Bendtner, we have Eduardo we have Andrey Arshavin and we have Robin van Persie. We have plenty of strikers," added Wenger.

Adebayor will now miss league games against Sunderland and Fulham, the FA Cup replay with Cardiff and the first leg of the UEFA Champions League clash with Roma.
