Liverpool striker Fernando Torres hopes his injury problems would not come to haunt him again this season.

The Spanish striker, who joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2007, excelled during his debut season in the Premier League, scoring 24 goals.

But he hasn't been such prolific this season due to niggling hamstring injuries.

"This year what I am more worried about are injuries," Torres was quoted as saying by Liverpool's official website.

"I have had many problems since last summer but I hope I will be okay now until the end of the season."

The 24-year-old, who scored eight league goals so far, notched late winners in Liverpool's games against Portsmouth and Chelsea after recovering from injury.

Committed

Torres reiterated that he was committed to Liverpool after reports linked him with a summer move to Barcelona.

"I don't see myself playing for Real Madrid, or Barcelona or Chelsea or any other team."

"I see myself playing for Liverpool. I have a long contract and that's that," he added.
