Bayern lost two games out of three after the winter break, which prompted Der Kaiser to predict a wide open title race this season.

"Who will be the champions? I am sorry, I don't have an answer to this question, I have lost any feeling for this title race," Beckenbauer said in his Bild column.

"I reckoned that, starting back after the winter break, Bayern would finally march on to the title.

"Instead, having lost two games (1-0 at Hamburg and 2-1 at Hertha Berlin) I have to say: Bayern are no longer title favorites. All five or six leading teams can do it."

Bayern are on course to win the league, cup and Champions League treble this term, having won the domestic double last season.

However, Beckenbauer conceded that their recent displays are 'not sufficient' with regard to the Bavarian giants' ambitions.
