Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva made a superb return to action with a brace in the Gunners' 4-0 FA Cup fourth round win over Cardiff.

The Croat has played his first game since February 2008, when he suffered a horrific leg break in a Premiership game at Birmingham City.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger gave Eduardo a starting role at Emirates Stadium and the latter scored a first-half header and converted a penalty after the break to make a dream comeback.

Nicklas Bendtner and Robin van Persie were also on the scoresheet.

"It was the best day of my life," said Eduardo after the game.

"It was a special moment to score, very emotional. I celebrated by kissing my wedding ring - because my wife and daughter and family supported me right through this."

Eduardo's return will boost Arsenal's frontline after they lost African Footballer of the Year Emmanuel Adebayor for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
