The defending champions have gone eight matches without defeat or draw since their 2-0 loss to arch-rivals Barcelona on December 13th.
"We are defending very well, but this comes in streaks. Three months ago I sat here and said we conceded too many goals," Casillas told a press conference.
"We are stronger at the back. We are solid in the back line and we all help out in defence."
Real are second in the Primera Liga table on 50 points, ten behind leaders Barcelona.
Despite the considerable gap between both sides, Casillas believes Real still have a chance of overtaking the Catalans.
"We have to continue to win all our games, stay strong and use the chances we may get from Barcelona. We must continue to work well and focus on one game at a time
"We are in good form. Our problem is that Barcelona are way ahead and also in good form.
"Things are still compliacated for us because their lead is still considerable, but we have to make good use of any chances we get to get closer," the Spain keeper added.
