The away win lifted Ittihad to sixth position in the Egyptian Premier League table, and Basri has now got higher ambitions for his club.
"Wednesday's win turned us from a team struggling to avoid relegation into a team competing with the league's top clubs," Basri told FilGoal.com.
"No we're working on improving our position and getting closer to the top four."
The former Zamalek star stated that having a large number of fit players within his team is the main reason behind Ittihad's recent good results.
"My squad is currently packed with very good players, but I'm working on maintaining the same line-up every game," Basri added.
"This is not an underestimation to my substitutes, but we are doing well and we will benefit more from having the same starting eleven for longer period."
Next Opponent
Ittihad will next face bottom of the table Tersana, but Basri confirmed that the game will be an even affair.
"Tersana are in a bad situation, and they'll be doing their utmost to win the game's points.
"But we also want to continue the good results we've been producing lately."
Ittihad are currently enjoying a run of six unbeaten league games, where they collected 12 points from three wins and three draws.
