"During the afternoon of Thursday 19 February Benjamin was born in a Madrid hospital," Atletico said on their website.
"The delivery went without problems and the mother and baby are in perfect condition."
Benjamin is the first grandson for Maradona, who was appointed as Argentina boss in November 2008.
Aguero is expected to travel to face Sevilla on Saturday in the Primera Liga.
