Medical staff chief Ihab Ali said the 30-year-old received first aid treatment when he sustained the injury during the Egyptian Premier League game.
"The on-pitch treatment was really important to avoid injury aggravation," Ali told the Red Devils' official website.
Abou-Treika is set to undergo MRI scan, and its result should indicate how serious the injury is.
Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri believes some players make deliberate attempts to injure the Egypt midfielder.
"I feel that Abou-Treika has been subjected to numerous challenges as though some individuals are trying to hurt him," Al-Badri told the post-match press conference.
The former Tersana player sustained the injury after being violently tackled by Petrojet defender Hassan Gomaa.
Minutes later, his foot swelled and he was stretchered off as a result.
"Abou-Treika is going to miss the upcoming match against Ismaili," Al-Badri added.
