Spalletti

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was left fuming after the referee's decision to grant Inter Milan a 'fake' penalty in the two teams' 3-3 draw on Sunday at San Siro.

After going 3-1 up in the second-half, a penalty won and converted by Mario Balotelli put Inter on course for a comeback, which was completed by a Hernan Crespo goal eleven minutes from time.

"Balotelli threw the ball out there and tried to go where there wasn't a gap, throwing himself down to earn a spot-kick," Spalletti said after the game.

"It's obvious that is not a penalty, it's clear as day. From the bench it looked as if he dived and the replays confirmed that."

Unjust Draw

The former Udinese tactician is convinced that the spot-kick changed the whole game's outcome, adding that his team did more than enough to win the game.

"The game was over at 2-0, re-opened by Inter with their reaction, but on 3-1 it was closed again without that strange incident there," Spalletti bitterly added.

"With the way we played and approached the match, I think it's obvious we deserved the victory."

Spalletti concluded by confirming that this was not the first time his team had to endure dismal refereeing against Inter at San Siro.

"It is entirely obvious, I have come here for four years running and each time the referees are rather unfortunate with us."
