Inter Milan tactician Mourinho has recently made some controversial comments on the Rossoneri, Roma and Juventus that didn't exactly go down well.
Instead of giving a harsh reply, legendary defender Maldini pointed out that he's much more decorated than the Portuguese boss.
"I don't really want to prolong this exchange of insults," Maldini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"After all, it seems like Mourinho was harsher towards Juventus. But I just want to say that it doesn't work well for him when we look at trophies won.
"As far as I am concerned, during my years at Milan for every trophy he has lifted I have won five."
Third-placed Milan will have to defeat Atalanta at the San Siro this weekend in order not to widen the 12-point gap with bitter rivals Inter, whose Serie A leadership is cemented by 60 points.
