Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri nullified claims that Mohamed Barakat was fined following a red card in last weekend's league match with Police Union.

Some reports in Egypt said that the 30-year-old was fined EGP 5,000 after picking up two cautions in the goalless draw.

"These claims are no way near the truth, especially that Barakat didn’t commit anything out of order," Al-Badri said in Ahli's official site.

"We have clear rules for yellow cards and red cards."

Barakat was booked for simulation in the first half, before receiving his marching orders 25 minutes from time, for a dangerous play on an opposition.

The Egypt midfielder is Ahli's second player to be sent off in the last two games, which saw defender Ahmed Ali get red in the 2-2 draw at Asyut Petroleum.
