Roma full-back Cicinho ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in two years and is set to miss the rest of the season, the Serie A club said on Monday.

The Brazilian, who suffered the same injury during his Real Madrid days two seasons ago, was injured in training on Sunday and could be sidelined to up to six months.

Cicinho, 28, featured in 22 league games out of 27 for the Giallorossi so far this term, scoring one goal.

His injury adds to Roma's woes ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Arsenal, as the Italians already miss midfield duo Simone Perrotta and Daniele De Rossi due to injury and suspension respectively.
