Ahmed Belal opened the scoring midway through the first half, Ahmed Hassan struck early after the interval and Moataz Eno hit a last-gasp goal for the Red Devils.
Ahli now are six points clear at the top of the table with 45 points, while the Alexandrian side are in penultimate place with 20.
Playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika, who was kept on the sidelines for three weeks with an ankle injury, was named in Ahli's squad, but he took no part in the game.
Error-prone guardian Amir Abdul-Hamid was once again benched, making way for Ramzi Saleh who came across as a competent keeper in his fourth consecutive game as a starter.
Uneventful Start
The game witnessed a brief uneventful start, with both sides trying to take control in midfield.
Hassan was close to breaking the deadlock on eight minutes, but Olympic goalie Mahmoud Al-Sayed denied his close-range shot.
Seconds later, Ahli hitman Flavio Amado tried to volley home Ahmed Al-Sayed's headed assist, but his drive went well wide of the mark.
A follow-up effort from Belal put Ahli ahead in the 21st minutes.
The former Konyaspor striker tucked in the opener from point-blank range after keeper Al-Sayed clumsily parried Hassan's low drive.
The Red Devils tightened their grip on the game afterwards, and kept seeking to double their slender lead.
Hassan was about to hit a second for the Cairo side when he tried to connect with Wael Gomaa's right-wing cross, but the veteran midfielder mis-hit his shot.
On the half hour mark, the former Anderlecht man tried to volley-in Belal's deft pass, but his effort stung Al-Sayed's palms.
In the last ten minutes of the first period, Olympic tried to redeem themselves, but their attempts from both flanks didn't pose any real threat on Ahli.
Superiority
After the restart, Ahli tried to step up the match's tempo and ensure their superiority.
Mohamed Helmi's men didn't change their strategy and kept depending on their attempts from the wings, but to no avail.
Almost on the hour mark, Ahli's Eno tried his luck from outside the penalty area, but Al-Sayed denied his superb shot.
Shortly after, Hassan notched the second for Manuel Jose's side with a precise shot that landed in the back of the net.
The African champions exerted notable dominance on their opponents, who were further struggling in the second term.
Palestinian goalkeeper Saleh prevented Olympic's Mahmoud Al-Attar 'Jackson' from pulling one back from a one-on-one opportunity.
Eno put the icing on the cake in the dying minutes with an unstoppable shot.
