Al-Sayed took over from Abdul-Monsef as Zamalek number one this season, but the former paid tribute to his goalkeeping rival, who has recently lost his place in Egypt roster.
Zamalek captain Al-Sayed believes that Monsef has a good chance of making the Pharaohs squad, with the recent stumbling of Ahli's Amir Abdul-Hamid.
"I hope Monsef could get the opportunity to play with Zamalek in the upcoming few weeks in order to return to the national team," Al-Sayed said in Modern Sport TV.
"Monsef is a fine goalkeeper and he was a regular member of the Egypt squad over the recent years.
"I think he has a good chance of joining me and Essam Al-Hadari, because Amir Abdul-Hamid's chances have become limited."
Al-Sayed is expected to be recalled by Hassan Shehata for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Zambia, alongside first-choice keeper Al-Hadari.
