Egypt assistant coach Shawki Gharib revealed that Hossam Ghaly was not selected for the World Cup qualifier with Zambia in order to help him settle in with Nasr.

Ghaly, alongside Ahmed Abou-Mosallam and Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa, had no place in a seven-man list of foreign-based Egyptians for this month's qualifier.

However, Gharib stressed that the trio are being respectively monitored by the technical staff for possible future selections.

"Ghaly has just joined his new club in January, so we want him to take his time to settle in; the same goes to Abou-Mosallam (Ajaccio) and Al-Saqqa (Eskisehirspor)," he told Modern Sport TV.

"We are closely watching the trio, and I think they have a good chance of being recalled after the Zambia match."

Lierse Duo

Gharib also implied that Lierse pair Ahmed Samir and Mohamed Abdul-Wahed have a chance of getting an Egypt recall in the upcoming months.

"We are aware that Samir and Abdul-Wahed are doing well for Lierse, but there is no room for them in the Zambia game, nonetheless, the door is open for them in the future," the former Egypt international added.

Egypt will face Zambia on March 29th in their first game of the final qualifying phase for South Africa 2010.
