Gallas scores

Arsenal have set a date with Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals after beating Hull City 2-1, courtesy of a late controversial header by William Gallas.

Nick Barmby gave Hull a first-half lead at Emirates Stadium, before Robin van Persie equalized for the Gunners in the 75th minute.

Six minutes from time, Gallas notched in the winner from close range, but the Frenchman clearly appeared to be in an offside position.

Arsenal will meet Chelsea in the semis on April 18th, whereas Manchester United face Everton.

Mistake

Hull manager Phil Brown was left gutted in the wake of his side's defeat, which he refused to admit after the game.

"We haven't been beaten by Arsenal, and they are fourth top of the Premier League. We have been beaten by a linesman's decision and a referee's decision for Gallas' goal," he said.

"It was definitely a mistake by the officials. That’s why we’re out of the FA Cup. Ask Mr. (Mike) Riley how much that’s going to cost Hull City. I don’t think he’d understand. I don’t think he’d care."
