Ismaili assistant coach Ahmed Al-Agouz believes that his team were unlucky to be eliminated from the Arab Champions League (ACL) by Esperance of Tunisia.
Despite winning the quarter-finals return leg 2-1 in Ismailia, the Dervishes lost the tie on penalties after the final result ended in a 3-3 draw on aggregate.
"We were so unlucky to only win 2-1 tonight," Al-Agouz said after the game.
"We wasted many real chances in the first half and we could have easily won the tie if we took any of them away."
Al-Agouz refused to blame his players for the ACL exit, adding that he was delighted with the Ismaili fans' support throughout the game.
"The fans were brilliant tonight. They even cheered for the players after the game and I want to salute them for their spirit," the former Egyptian international considered.
