Mohamed Zidan's Borussia Dortmund secured a 1-0 home victory over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday to end a seven-match winless streak.

Alexander Frei converted a 64th-minute penalty to give Dortmund all three points.

The Swiss frontman, Dortmund's top scorer, took his tally to nine league goals, four ahead of Egyptian forward Zidan.

Zidan did not take part in the match as he sat on the substitutes' bench during the whole match.

The 27-year-old will link up with his Egypt teammates as the Pharaohs prepare to face Zambia in their first match of the World Cup qualifiers final phase on March 29th.

The result put Dortmund in ninth place of the league table with 37 points.
