Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg moved a step closer to the Bundesliga summit after beating Karlsruhe and Arminia Bielefeld respectively.

The two teams were helped by the defeat of leaders Hertha Berlin at the hands of Stuttgart thanks to goals from Cacau and Sami Khedira.

Bayern took full advantage of Hertha's slip by beating Karlsruhe 1-0 at the Allianz Arena.

In Bielefeld, goals from Christian Gentner, Grafite, Ashkan Dejagah helped Wolfsburg thrash their hosts 3-0.

While Hertha remain on top of the table with 49 points, both Bayern and Wolfsburg are joined-second with 48, followed by Hamburg on 45 points.

The Bundesliga's exceptional season can be set alight if Hamburg beat Schalke on Sunday.
