Emirate billionaire Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaim is poised to buy Spanish Primera Liga side Real Betis from owner Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.

"I know the Betis fans are very hopeful that his Highness is going to buy the shares," said Al-Nuaim spokesman Ismael Gutierrez de Alba in Diario AS.

"I want them to know that we are very interested and his representatives are working on the operation. We want to hold a meeting in London to start to be able to close the affair."

The relegation-threatened Betis were close to being sold out earlier this season, but negotiations eventually fell through.

Al-Nuaim, who is currently Emir of Ajman, is likely to pay no less than €90million in order to convince Betis owner Lopera.
