In a ceremony held in Zamalek, Heineken Egypt in coalition with UEFA unveiled the original Champions League trophy which is currently touring the world.

After taking the trophy to Nigeria and Algeria as part of its ongoing African tour, Champions League's sponsors Heineken have brought the trophy to Egypt.

The trophy was shown to journalists in a press event on Thursday, before its public revealing over the next two days.

The event was attended by UEFA representatives, as well as representatives from Heineken Egypt and UEFA ambassador Hani Ramzy.

The former Kaiserslautern and Werder Bremen said that he was honoured to be chosen as UEFA's ambassador, adding that Egypt can benefit a lot from the trophy's presence in Cairo.

"It's a great advantage for Egypt to have the Champions League trophy," Ramzy told FilGoal.com.

"We can always make the best use out of hosting such events, especially that we will be hosting the Under 20 FIFA World Cup in September."

After Cairo, the trophy will fly in South Africa, which will be the final destination before the end of the trophy's African tour.
