Former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini is looking to annul his contract with the Nerazzurri in order to be able to work elsewhere.

The Italian is still contracted to the Serie A champions, who failed to reach a mutual agreement when they sacked him back at the end of last season.

But Mancio's agent is now working on terminating the ongoing contract, which runs out in 2012.

"There have been talks and we have nearly reached an agreement," said agent Giorgio De Giorgis in Sky Italia television.

"In order to get back to work, he has to resolve this contract situation with Inter. We hope he can go to work for the club that is best for him.

"Evidently he would like to test himself in a league that is different from the Italian championship, but I don't see why he wouldn't work in the peninsula if he considers it a good proposal."

Mancini, who was succeeded by Jose Mourinho at San Siro, was reportedly linked with Sampdoria where he enjoyed the brightest era of his playing career.
