Valdes, whose latest performances were quite fluctuating, was tipped to move away from the Spanish giants after failing to work out contractual issues with the club officials.
But Laporta assured the Catalans have no intention of offloading the Spanish goalie.
"He (Valdes) is the best goalkeeper in the world and will get what he deserves," Barca chairman Laporta told Marca.
"I believe that he wants to continue and we will be fair with the amount we say so that we can arrive at an agreement."
Apart from Valdes' future, Laporta revealed his desire to see Cesc Fabregas plying his trade at Barcelona.
"I would very much like to have Fabregas in a Barcelona shirt but the opinions of the coach is what makes the decisions," he said.
"We know that he is a big player and that he would fit our style perfectly."
