The Brazilian-born player has been sidelined since last month with an injury that obliges him to rest for several more days.
The Derby d'Italia takes place in about a fortnight, and Amauri should have enough time to reach full recovery before the anticipated match.
"It's a shame that I won't make the Chievo game, but I will be ready for Inter," Amauri told Italian newspaper Il Tempo.
"If everything goes according to plan then I will resume full training next week with my teammates. I am aiming to be fit for Inter.
"This is an awkward injury that I am dealing with and so it is important that I make sure I recover fully.
"I want to give my contribution to the team so we can finish the League season as we started it."
Juventus now lie second in the Serie A table with 62 points, seven points behind leaders Inter.
