Ghazl Mahalla manager Sherif Al-Khashab hit out at Egypt's U-20 team assistant coach Hany Ramzy for refusing to allow three of his international players to participate in a league game.

The Peasants claimed a precious 2-1 victory over Petrojet but Al-Khashab was still unhappy that he couldn't field trio Ahmed Magdi, Salah Soliman and Marzouk Salah.

"I asked Ramzy to let them take part in the match because we missed several influential players," Al-Khashab told the post-match press conference.

"They would have reported for international duty right after the match, but Ramzy turned down my request.

"Egypt's U-20 team are playing friendly games so it wouldn't have been a problem for Ramzy to temporarily release Mahalla players."

The junior Pharaohs are holding a training camp as they prepare for the FIFA U-20 World Cup that will take place on home soil in September.

Mahalla's victory over Petrojet lifted them to 12th place with 28 points, four above the relegation zone with six matches left.
