Hertha Berlin lost their place at the top of the Bundesliga after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan, who already scored five times for Dortmund this season, took part in the win by replacing Switzerland's Alexandre Frei in the 72nd minute.

Prior to his substitution, Frei had given the lead to the Black Yellows with a 25th minute strike.

Hertha drew level ten minutes after the restart through Rafael, before Sebastien Kehl restored the hosts' lead on 64 minutes.

Dortmund's win was wrapped up seven minutes from time courtesy of a Nelson Haedo Valdez goal.

While Hertha were demoted to third in the table with 49 points, Jurgen Kloppe's men climbed to eighth on 40 points.
