Amr Zaki revealed that Wigan manager Steve Bruce's statements regarding his indiscipline are no more than just a misunderstanding.

The on-loan Zamalek striker failed to return to Wigan on time following his participation in the World Cup qualifier with Zambia last week, which prompted Bruce to say that the Egyptian's behaviour is totally unprofessional.

Wigan were furious that Zaki did not follow his injury report by adequate scans, apart from being absent.

"A medical report proving my injury was sent by the Egyptian FA to Wigan, but the club insisted on having a copy of the scan," Zaki said in Dream TV.

"I don’t have any personal problems with Bruce, but there are some things I don’t want to reveal right now."

Zaki added that his recent spat with Bruce did not result in terminating his contract, and that he will decide on his future after the loan ends.

"I will be heading back to Zamalek at the end of the season before deciding my next destination," he said.

Mido Comments

The 26-year-old refused to further comment on his public saga with fellow club and Egypt forward Mido.

"I don’t want to respond to such comments, as I'm only focused on my displays with the national side for the moment," he added.

Zaki was accused by Mido of trying to blemish his reputation by spreading 'false rumours' following Egypt's 1-1 draw with Zambia.

Those rumours indicated that Mido protested against Shehata's decision not to include him in the starting line-up of the game.
