Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce reiterated his dismay at the fact that striker Amr Zaki is yet to report back to the club following international duty with Egypt.

The 26-year-old striker is yet to return to England after playing in The Pharaohs' World Cup qualifier against Zambia on March 29th.

"We've heard from his agent, but we haven't heard from him. It is a huge disappointment," Bruce told Sky Sports.

"I find it ridiculous. We need to see where his mind is and what is up with him."

Zaki earlier said that an injury he picked up against Zambia prevented him from returning to Wigan on time, but Bruce is not convinced with the striker's comments.

"I find it quite incredible, the lack of respect. We don't know how bad his hamstring is. Could be really bad, could be just a strain." added the former Manchester United defender.

The forward is currently playing on loan at Wigan from Zamalek, and despite already notching ten goals for The Latics, Bruce believes it's unlikely the club will permanently buy the ex-ENPPI man.

"Certainly, if I was thinking of making it [the move] permanent, there would be a big question mark over it at the moment."
