The Egypt hitman found himself in hot water when he didn't report from international duty after the Pharaohs' 1-1 draw with Zambia in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers final phase nearly a fortnight ago.
Zaki postponed his arrival at the JJB Stadium after sustaining a minor hamstring tear in the international tie, which triggered off a wave of criticism against him.
"We will set off at the crack of dawn, and we will attend an important meeting with Steve Bruce and other Wigan officials," Shawki told FilGoal.com.
"The purpose of the meeting is to work things out and let bygones be bygones. We will also discuss the possibility of a permanent deal."
Wigan boss Bruce insinuated Zaki's lack of discipline made him reluctant to extend his stay, amid recent reports claiming that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in the robust marksman.
