Ahmed Hassan was ruled out of Ahli's league game with Ghazl Mahalla on Monday as he seemingly hasn’t recovered from an ankle problem.

The Egypt skipper sustained the injury in last month's World Cup qualifier with Zambia and has been out of action ever since.

Even though Ahli said last week that he will return against Mahalla, there was no place for the 33-year-old in the Red Devils' squad.

Hassan joins influential midfielder Mohamed Barakat, who was also ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Goalkeeper Amir Abdul-Hamid remains sidelined with a similar problem.

Ahli Squad:

Goalkeepers: Ramzi Saleh, Ahmed Abdul-Monem.

Defenders: Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Al-Sayed, Shadi Mohamed, Mohamed Samir, Ahmed Sedik, Sayed Moawad, Gilberto.

Midfielders: Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Abou-Treika, Moetaz Eno, Hossam Ashour, Hussein Ali.

Strikers: Flavio, Ahmed Belal, Osama Hosni, Hussein Yasser.
