African champions Ahli should be afraid when they face Kano Pillars in the CAF Champions League round of 16 on Sunday, according to official Ibrahim Galadima.

Nigerian champions Kano are fancying their chances of reaching the quarter-finals at the expense of the Egyptian giants, as Galadima revealed that it's a 'World Cup final' for the outsiders.

"Our players see this game as their World Cup final. Everybody involved with the team knows that nothing must be left undone to ensure victory on Saturday," he told Nigerian media.

"We must focus on the game and forget tradition and records. Ahli should be afraid of us because they have so much to lose while we have nothing to lose."

Shocking

In the same manner, fellow official Shehu Adamu is adamant that Kano are capable of upsetting Ahli, despite the latter's pedigree.

"The African record of Ahli should intimidate us, but we are aware that unfancied teams have produced upsets and are confident of shocking the Egyptians," he said.

Kano, who are currently camping in Kaduna, have reportedly hired Slovenian expert Iva Sajh, ahead of the crucial tie with the Egyptian champions.
