Manchester United turned a two-goal deficit to beat Tottenham 5-2 in the English Premier League at Old Trafford.

The win ensures United's position at the top of the Premiership table with 77 points, three ahead of Liverpool, who went first for one hour after they beat Hull City earlier on Saturday.

Tottenham stunned Old Trafford with a first-half lead thanks to goals from Darren Bent and Luca Modric on 29 and 32 minutes.

A rejuvenated United turned things around after the interval. Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney scored a brace each, before Dimitar Berbatov added United's fifth.

The first-half was surprisingly all about Spurs, as the visitors looked lively and threatened United on a number of occasions.

Bent broke the deadlock when he took advantage of a loose ball after Rio Ferdinand failed to clear Vederan Corluka's cross.

A neat move from Tottenham saw Aaron Lennon's cross find the unguarded Modric, who converted past Van der Saar from close range.

United's first came when Michael Carrick won a penalty kick for his team after a late tackle from Gomes on the English international in the 57th minute.

Ronaldo successfully converted past the Brazilian keeper.

In the 67th minute, Rooney equalized for Sir Alex Ferguson's men after shooting low from the edge of the Spurs box.

A minute later, Rooney's cross was met by a diving header from Ronaldo to score his team's third.

The big win was wrapped up with goals on 71 and 79 minutes from Rooney and Berbatov.
