In Suez, the home side were comfortably holding a first-half lead, thanks to goals from Alaa Ibrahim and Eric Bekoe.
Last season's top scorer Ibrahim saw his poor effort scrap into the net o 32 minutes after goalkeeper Amir Tawfik failed to deal with it.
At the stroke of half-time, Ghanaian striker Bekoe scored a magnificent goal when he twisted and turned before sending a perfectly-placed 20-yard shot into Tawfik's net.
But Hossam Hassan's team leveled things after the break, courtesy of two headers from Ahmed Omran and Mohamed Ateya on 47 and 72 minutes respectively.
Despite their courageous comeback, Telecom remain third from bottom with 29 points, trailing 13th placed Mahalla by a single point. Petrojet remained fourth on 47 points.
Elsewhere, Mahalla's 0-0 with Police in Cairo wasn’t that satisfactory, but Sherif Al-Khashab's stayed out of the relegation zone for now.
In Alexandria, Olympic have almost booked their ticket out of the top flight after losing 3-1 to city rivals Harras Hodoud.
Goals from Ahmed Saied 'Ouka', Ahmed Eid and Abdul-Hamid Basiouni sealed the win for Hodoud, while Mahmoud Al-Attar 'Jackson' scored Olympic's only goal.
Hodoud are third with 49 points, as Olympic are rock bottom on 23.
