The Rossoneri moved to within seven points of arch-rivals and leaders Inter Milan with five matches remaining after recording four successive victories.

"Milan have been playing some beautiful football lately," Lippi told La Gazzetta dello Spor on Saturday.

"Despite their many problems that they have encountered throughout the season, they should continue to challenge for the championship until it is mathematically impossible.

"Having said this though, it surely is too late now for them to aspire to win the championship. Their dreams are over."

Milan, 17-time Italian champions, have not won the Serie title since 2004.
