تجربة زكي لم تكلل بالنجاح
Amr Zaki was stretchered off injured seven minutes after his second-half introduction in Wigan Athletic's 3-1 Premier League defeat to West Bromwich on Saturday.

The Egypt striker replaced Charles N'Zogbia in the 71st minute but had to be carried off the pitch shortly after when he sustained an apparent serious injury to his knee.

The Bulldozer made way for Dutch winger Daniel de Ridder.

Egypt coach Hassan Shehata will face an anxious wait to learn for how long Zaki would be sidelined.

The Pharaohs will already face Algeria in next month's crunch World Cup qualifier without Ahli striker Emad Meteb.

With the FIFA Confederations Cup looming, Shehata will be keeping his fingers crossed that Zaki becomes available for the anticipated tournament.

The combative frontman is on loan at Wigan from Zamalek until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Zaki's compatriot Mido missed Wigan's surprising loss against West Bromwich through injury.

"A hamstring complaint ruled Mido out of the tie," the player's brother Tamer Wasfi told FilGoal.com.

"Coach Steve Bruce preferred to rest him to have him available for Wednesday's clash against Manchester United."
