تجربة زكي لم تكلل بالنجاح

Amr Zaki's agent Nader Shawki revealed that the Wigan Athletic striker sustained two injuries during his team's game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Egyptian international started the Premiership clash on the bench, before he replaced Charles N'Zogbia on 71 minutes and got injured seven minutes later.

"Zaki's knee was hit hard in a challenge with a West Brom player. He then fell awkwardly to twist his ankle," Shawki told FilGoal.com.

"He will undergo scans on both his knee and ankle to determine how serious the injuries are."

Shawki said that he expects Zaki to be out of the game for at leas two weeks, which means that the 25-year-old hitman will miss the Premiership's conclusion.

"I really hope that Zaki comes back on time to catch Egypt's World Cup qualifier against Algeria, as well as the Confederations Cup," Shawki added.

Egypt will face Algeria on June 7th before taking part in the FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa, which will commence on June 14th.

Zaki's fellow club and countryman Mido was missing from the West Brom clash due to a hamstring injury he picked up on Thursday.

According to Mido's brother, Wigan manager Steve Bruce preferred to rest the ex-Spurs man and prepare him for the Latics clash against Manchester United on Wednesday.
