Juventus board members will be convening on Tuesday to choose a replacement for current coach Claudio Ranieri, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

According to the Italian publication, the club boardroom is considering snapping up either Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini or Roma's Luciano Spalletti.

Ranieri has been facing a baptism of fire for quite a while, following the Old Lady's recent poor domestic and continental run.

Gasperini is reportedly the frontrunner to take charge of Juventus, after leading Genoa to fifth spot so far in the league.

The 51-year-old tactician managed the Turin giants' youth team beforehand, and he recently conceded he wouldn't turn down an offer to take over the first team.

Spalletti, on the other hand, has been linked with the hot seat after patron John Elkann expressed his eagerness to appoint him.

The experienced coach would accept Juventus' overtures without a second thought, as he's no longer comfortable at Roma.

Former Juve skipper and current Bari coach Antonio Conte was also tipped to succeed Ranieri, but he's not likely to take up the job.
