The German international, who will join Cologne next season, was given limited opportunities under Bayern's former manager Jurgen Klinsmann.
He has been given a new lease of life since Heynckes took over, making three consecutive starts for the Bavarians.
"Heynckes has restored my belief, I’m confident about starting matches, and I think I’ve repaid his faith when I’ve played," Podolski told Bayern's official website.
The 23-year-old impressed in Bayern's 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
He scored and dished out two assists as the title holders kept pace with Bundesliga leaders Wolfsburg.
"We’ve come on well as a team in the last few games. We’re well-organised, training is good, and you can see the results out on the park," Podolski added.
With two matches remaining, Bayern and Wolfsburg have 63 points apiece, with the latter having a better goal difference.
