The Egypt guardian picked up the injury in Sion's 2-1 defeat to Young Boys last weekend.
"I'm not sure if I can participate in the derby," Al-Hadari told FilGoal.com on Friday.
"I will have a fitness test on Saturday morning to determine whether I can play or not."
The former Ahli man does not want to rush himself back into action though as Sion's anticipated Swiss Cup final against Young Boys looms.
"I'm worried. I don't want to aggravate the injury ahead of Wednesday's cup final," Al-Hadari added.
The 36-year-old custodian regained his regular place between the sticks during Sion's previous three games after getting over a dispute with the club's chairman Christian Constantin
Relegation-threatened Sion lie second from bottom in the league table with three matches remaining.
The bottom side in the ten-team table will be automatically relegated to the second division.
The penultimate side will face the second-placed team of the lower division in a decisive play-off, and the winners will secure a Super League spot.
