Ismaili winger Omar Gamal will undergo knee surgery in Egypt after his anterior cruciate ligament injury was confirmed.

The influential midfielder, who sustained the injury in Monday's league win over Telecom Egypt, was set to travel to Germany for treatment.

But after the final examinations, Ismaili medical staff vouched that Gamal can be fully treated on home soil.

"Renowned Egyptian surgeon Ahmed Abdul-Aziz will operate on Gamal, there is no need to travel abroad for the operation," club chief doctor Magdi Al-Baz told FilGoal.com.

Al-Baz reiterated the 26-year-old will need four to six months to overcome his problem.
