Eskisehirspor defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa has been named by Egypt's technical staff in an initial 40-man squad that will be cut to 28 for the Oman friendly on May 30th.

However, Egypt assistant coach Shawki Gharib told FilGoal.com that Al-Saqqa is not guaranteed a place in the 28-man team which will be declared on Thursday.

The Oman friendly is part of Egypt's preparations for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria on June 7th, as well as the Confederations Cup starting seven days later.

The international call-up is Al-Saqqa's first in over three years, as his last participation with the Egyptian national side was in the 2006 African Cup of Nations.

The 35-year-old, who played 107 games for the Pharaohs, has been having a fine season in the Turkish Super Lig with Eskisehirspor.

The ex-Mansoura man led his team to tenth position in the table after they were struggling around the relegation zone during the first term of the season.
