Lehmann lashes out at Bundesliga referees

VFB Stuttgart goalie Jens Lehmann believes referees have been favoring Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich, who lie first and second respectively in the Bundesliga table, throughout the season.

"Referees are always biased towards Wolfsburg and Bayern at the expense of other clubs, therefore both teams are now the favorites to win the title race," the veteran keeper told Bild.

Third-placed Stuttgart have a slim chance to clinch the league title.

They will only be crowned champions if they defeat Bayern, and Wolfsburg lose to Werder Bremen in the league final round.

In the meantime, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was deeply provoked by Lehmann's allegations.

"Lehmann accuses the referees of favoritism and deception, he has to be punished for his this accusations," Rummenigge said.
