Sion goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari said that winning the Swiss Cup was the best way to end a long and tough season for the Egypt man.

The former Ahli guardian suffered a loss of form, which coincided with Sion's struggle at the bottom end of the Swiss Super League throughout the campaign.

However, a 3-2 win over Young Boys on Wednesday ensured the 35-year-old his first title since joining Sion in February 2008.

"This season hasn’t been very good for me. I'm really glad it was concluded with a happy ending," Al-Hadari told his official website.

Following the win, Al-Hadari performed his trademark celebration by climbing over the bar and dancing with the fans while carrying the Egyptian flag.

"It was so good to return to my habit of dancing," he added.

Al-Hadari previously announced that this season will be his last with Sion, confirming that he will return to the Egyptian Premier League in the summer.
