The veteran Argentine is running out of contract at San Siro and has been strongly tipped to join another Serie A club.
Even though Fiorentina and Napoli led the race to sign him, Crespo looks set for a Marassi move.
"He has not put pen to paper yet, but I met with him and he really impressed me," Genoa chief Preziosi told Radio Incontro.
"Crespo is 99.9 per cent a Genoa player."
Fiorentina reaction
Following Genoa's declaration that Crespo will join their ranks this summer, Fiorentina have voiced their dismay over the 33-year-old's switch.
"Someone is trying to be sneaky, I already have an agreement and I want it to be maintained," Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino told Stadio.
"If they want to play at creating a bidding war, they are sadly mistaken. We had a formal deal, even if there was no paperwork, but we certainly will not accept an increase in the figures we already agreed.
"I have not been called by the agent or the player. One thing is certain, I won’t let anyone take the Mickey out of me and I am not lacking in imagination when it comes to buying players."
Corvino conceded that Viola are in no rush to bring in a striker, implying that Crespo is not a priority.
"We have Alberto Gilardino and can wait for the right man to come along. We’ve no emergency to get a centre-forward," he added.
