Neville back in England fold

England coach Fabio Capello has named Gary Neville in the 24-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra.

Neville, who missed the majority of the season through injury, was not called up to the Three Lions' squad for nearly two years.

Tottenham Hotspur hitman Jermain Defoe has also returned to England fold, although he was out of action of late due to injury.

Goalkeepers David James and Ben Foster were snubbed, while West Bromwich Albion custodian Scott Carson, Blackburn Rovers' Paul Robinson and West Ham United's Robert Green were picked.

In the rearguard, Manchester City's Wayne Bridge has been recalled, and Rio Ferdinand was also picked in spite of his back problem.

City wide man Shaun Wright-Phillips was unexpectedly included despite his injury.

Arsenal ace Theo Walcott and Aston Villa's Ashley Young have also returned to the squad.
