Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher is convinced that winning the Oman exhibition 1-0 will be very important in lifting up the team's spirit ahead of the Algeria clash.

A second-half strike from Mohamed Abou-Treika was enough for the Pharaohs to win the game in Muscat, and Zaher is happy with the game's outcome.

"The players were in need of a morale booster before facing Algeria," Zaher told Dream TV.

"The friendly was a very fruitful experience and we can benefit a lot from it."

Hassan Shehata's men will next face Algeria in the World Cup qualifier on June 7th.

Meanwhile, Zaher confirmed that Amr Zaki's injury will not prevent him from playing in Algeria.

The striker had to be taken off in the second half after hurting his head after colliding with teammate Ahmed Eid Abdul-Malek while celebrating Abou-Treika's goal.
